I don’t like to get too political, as I believe that people Should Not make a political decision because of my opinion. My decision to support or not support a candidate or ballot measure revolves around my personal goals and beliefs. That said, I do support the people to have the information to make a choice.

Would you declare that a fiscal emergency exists in The City of Redding, and that a special election is necessary so we could place a general tax measure on the ballot of the June 5, 2018, election?

Placing a general tax measure on the ballot of the June 5, 2018, election, to adopt a one-half of one percent sales tax, which would expire 10 years from the operative date of the ordinance unless extended by the voters of the City of Redding. The proposed Redding City Council plan is to adopt the potential 5+Million income generated from the sales tax, towards supporting our Public Safety goals. Below is the information that was voted on last night (March 6th) at the Redding City Council meeting.

Mayor Kristen Schreder, Voted in favor

Vice Mayor Francie Sullivan, Voted in favor

Mayor Pro Tempore Julie Winter, Voted in favor

Councilmen Brent Weaver, Voted in favor

Councilmen Adam McElvain, Voted against
